O2 Cold Work Die Steel Description
O2 steel is a kind of low alloy tool steel with better comprehensive mechanical properties than carbon tool steel, and it has higher hardness and wear resistance.
When quenching, the deformation is small and the hardenability is good.
Because the steel contains a certain amount of vanadium, the grain size is refined and the overheating sensitivity of the steel is reduced.
At the same time, the carbides are fine and evenly distributed.

AISI O2 steel introduction
AISI O2 tool steel is an oil hardening baja perkakas which is supplied in the annealed condition and characterised by its characteristics of offering good durability.
Tool steel O2 is with excellent wear resistance and its ability to hold a good cutting edge. O2 steel is a good quality general purpose tool steel often used where the expense of a high carbon high chromium baja perkakas would not be justified.

AISI O2 Tool Steel Heat Treatment
- Annealing : 680 – 720°C
- Hardness after annealing : Max. 220 HB
- Stress relieving : Approx. 650°C
- Hot forming : 1050 – 850°C
- Hardening : 790 – 820°C
- Quenching media : Oil, Salt bath (220 – 250°C) up to 20 mm thickness

7: Delivery condition
(1) Untuk batangan tempa panas atau canai panas, biasanya kondisi pengirimannya adalah batangan tempa atau canai panas, anil, dan pembubutan kasar.
(2) Untuk pelat tempa panas, biasanya kondisi pengirimannya adalah permukaan yang ditempa panas, dianil, dan digiling.
(3) Untuk pelat canai panas, biasanya kondisi pengirimannya adalah canai panas, anil, permukaan hitam.
